Check Out This Place!

This week I made a delicious batch of grainless pumpkin muffins which I found via this recipe, read two books, saw deer in really heavily populated areas nowhere near forests quite a bit (possibly because they're trying to escape the terrible air here?), We got a ton of snow, a huge chunk of ice flew off of the top of a UPS truck and cracked our windshielf in half from top to bottom, and we moved into an apartment!
Yes, an apartment! Rent is cheaper than it is in the trailer and, well, it's bigger and warmer... so the trailer is going into storage for now, and that's that!
The Procedure was a very quick read I found creepy and interesting. Sharp Objects was another of Gillian Flynn's and it was dark and creepy, just like Gone Girl... I'm not sure if I can recommend it or not! It was so creepy and intense it ate pieces of my soul... but I DID have trouble putting it down! I guess I'd say you should definitely read it if you don't like all of the parts of your soul, definitely don't if you do?

Have you ever cruised Pacific Coast Highway? I haven't, but I will someday... and yeah, Don Henley will be playing.

Christmas in Vermont looks positively lovely!

Jenna's South Africa photos are so interesting to me!  It's a whole new world over there and I will definitely see it someday.
-
Deanna's Bahamas cruise photos make me so happy!
-
Steffani's lovely hike in the woods makes me miss my hometown of Flagstaff, Arizona just a teensy little bit.
-
Something I'm excited to check out while in Utah: Toad's Fun Zone! I can't wait to take our little toddler to go play there!

Also, Ashlee is going to Africa! She'll be there doing good things and helping out... so she'll be my February special cause. I'd love to see her able to purchase a vehicle for them!
January's special cause was the Sandy Hook fund. I donated our typical cash donation, and I was also able to do a little extra by donating all of my Swagbucks to the cause. I was hoping to get 1,000 SBs by the end of the month and I donated a total of 1,160!

Enjoy your weekend! This is your last chance to get me snowy photos for my next Your Town feature! I'll be sharing all of the photos on Tuesday morning, but I'd like to get them by Sunday night please! These can be current or old snowy photos from any location.

  1. So I hadn't actually read the description for Sharp Objects, but now that I have I want to read it! It sounds horrible yet good haha

I've been on the PCH and it's my favorite road to drive! When I went to Laguna, we drove along the PCH and stopped at a few super cute thrift stores.

My mom won a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas and she leave next week, and now I am officially jealous! And the inside of the ship was bigger than I imagined!! I'll definitely have to start putting aside some money and save up for a cruise...

    1. You have no idea! So creepy!
Are the shops on the PCH pretty expensive? I imagine they would be, just because of the feeling behind them. =]
Ooooh, Bahamas! I hope she enjoys it! I do want to laze around in the sunshine, but I want to take an Alaska cruise even more! At the same time though, I want to see so much more of Alaska than a cruise will allow so maybe the Bahamas are a better bet for us. I'm pretty sure we're definitely going on one for our five year anniversary though!

  2. An apartment? Really? It's so weird to hear you say that but I can see the warmth and additional space being a big nesting factor. Good for you. ~Naples Sara

    1. I was surprised by it too! It definitely wouldn't have happened if the rent hadn't been cheaper though!

  3. Wow! An apartment?! Exciting! I'm glad you'll be warmer, I was worried about you in the cold trailer (I hope that doesn't sound obnoxious!). Do you guys plan on staying there for awhile?

Haven't talked in awhile, we should have a phone or Skype date! <3

    1. Ha ha, I've been getting that a lot! We plan on staying there until Ryan finishes up his bachelor's degree. He is hoping to be able to finish the last semester or two online so we can leave sooner, but it just depends on when/how those classes are offered. Then we have big plans I can't share yet. =]

Sure, that'd be lovely! We'll have to schedule it in advance though because I don't have Internet at home!!
